Mary Wilson has more than 30 years of experience as a business consultant, senior manager and training professional. She is currently an independent consultant with expertise in the areas of leadership development, change management, performance feedback, coaching, teambuilding, interpersonal communication, conflict resolution and group facilitation. Mary’s consulting practice focuses on enhancing organizational success by helping people work together more productively. She has worked with and conducted workshops for organizations ranging from Fortune 500 manufacturing and service firms to small family-owned businesses, nonprofits and Federal government agencies.
Prior to starting her own consulting practice, she held the position of Assistant Vice President, People Development, at Keystone Foods Corporation, a multi-national McDonald’s supplier, where she was responsible for creating and putting in place innovative employee development processes. Mary was a key contributor to the start-up and implementation of total quality management and the development and rollout of Keystone’s Vision. In addition, her work with customer/supplier teams throughout the McDonald’s System enabled them to significantly improve their productivity.
Client projects have included designing and facilitating a strategic planning process for the senior management team of a manufacturing organization that enabled it to focus on its strengths and move forward as one; facilitating a customer/supplier “shared expectations” process that enhanced the business partnership between a regional fast-food restaurant cooperative and its advertising agency; coaching a cross-functional team charged with developing and implementing an innovative approach to employee development in a start-up company within the meat industry; and assisting a federal government agency in identifying best practices associated with the Human Resources function’s role in the competitive sourcing process and achieving the “best practices” model on a consistent basis.
Her background also includes a variety of positions in human resources development and employee communication at Bethlehem Steel Corporation. As an internal consultant at Bethlehem, Mary assisted individuals and groups at all levels to make successful transitions during a major long-term change process. Bethlehem recognized her achievements by giving her its “Gold Award” for significant contribution to the company.
She is an honors graduate of Dickinson College and has a master’s degree from Lehigh University. Mary is also a certified mediator and holds numerous training and business certifications from organizations such as the University of Tennessee, the Drucker Foundation, and Development Dimensions International.
